Stripping Stewardess, 1965

Flavor: Advertising , Vintage

The late Braniff International Airways airline prided itself on impeccable service as well as inimitable color schemes and "space age"-themed fashions. Braniff also understood the power of the stripping stewardess.

In a commercial (promoting fashion designer Pucci's collaboration with the airline) titled "The Air Strip," a flight attendant suggestively removes clothing to the sound of slow music and the voice of a male narrator saying things like, "after dinner on those long flights she'll slip into something a little more comfortable." The commercial concludes with "brought to you by Braniff International, who believes that even an airline hostess should look like a girl."
